Free SFDA menu label generator
Enter a dish, its calories and allergens, and get the menu line in Arabic and English, written the way Saudi rules ask.
It follows the SFDA menu requirements for Saudi Arabia: calories on the menu, an allergen label in Arabic, caffeine on drinks, the salt icon and meat origin. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

Fill in the form and choose Add to sheet. Your dishes stay here so you can copy every line at once, or print the list.
The rules behind each line
Every part of the line comes from a public source. Where the guide could not confirm something, it says so here too.
Calories next to every item
Show calories (Cal or kcal) on each item's line, per meal or per serving, on printed menus, boards, websites and apps. Each size needs its own number, and one unit across the whole menu.
Not confirmedNo primary source found for font size, exact label wording or exemptions for daily specials.

The 14 allergens, in Arabic
Name which of the 14 recognised allergens each dish contains, in clear written Arabic. Write the allergen, not the ingredient, and add "may contain" where cross-contact is possible.
The regulation number differs between sources: SFDA.FD 56/2018 in one study, SFDA.FD GSO 2605 in the MoMaH requirements. The duty is the same.

Caffeine on drinks
From 1 July 2025, drinks show caffeine in mg per cup or per 100 ml, with a note that the maximum daily caffeine intake for adults is 400 mg.
Sources
The salt icon
From 1 July 2025, an item with more than 5 g of salt (2,000 mg of sodium) carries a salt icon, on paper and electronic menus and online ordering platforms. Salt is about sodium × 2.5.
Not confirmedThe 🧂 marker is AlaMenu's text convention, not an official icon design. If SFDA or your inspector gives you an icon design, use it on printed menus and delivery apps.

Physical-activity labelNot confirmed
From 1 July 2025, menus are asked to show an activity icon and the minutes or hours needed to burn each item. This tool never calculates the figure.
The method is not confirmed: which activity, what body weight, and whether one activity is enough. Take it from SFDA or your nutrition consultant.

Meat type and origin
Show the meat you serve (camel, beef, lamb, goat, poultry, fish) and where it comes from: imported, with the country and chilled or frozen; or local, fresh or chilled. A sign, a screen or the menu all work.

Questions
Is this tool official?
No. It is a free AlaMenu helper built on the public sources linked on this page. SFDA and your inspector have the final word.
Do these rules apply to QR and delivery-app menus?
Yes. SFDA's calorie guide lists websites and apps next to printed menus, and the July 2025 rules on caffeine, salt and physical activity cover paper and electronic menus. The salt rule names online ordering platforms too.
Which allergens must I list?
The 14 in the form, from cereals containing gluten to molluscs, in clear written Arabic. You can add English too. Write the allergen, not the ingredient: tahini is sesame.
Do I need the physical-activity label, and how is it calculated?
Menus are asked to show it from 1 July 2025. We could not confirm SFDA's method, which activity and what body weight, so this tool never calculates it. Take the minutes from SFDA or your nutrition consultant and type them in.
How do I turn sodium into salt?
Multiply sodium by 2.5. So 2,000 mg of sodium is 5 g of salt, and the salt icon applies above that. The form does the sum for you.
Where do caffeine numbers come from?
From your supplier's specification, a lab result, the can's label, or the SFDA caffeine calculator for a typical value. Work it out for your own recipe, since the dose and the cup size change the number.
Do you keep my dishes?
Only in this browser. Nothing you type is sent to us. If you clear your browser data the list is gone, so copy the lines you need.
Can AlaMenu show these lines?
Yes, as text in each dish's Arabic and English description, live as soon as you save. There are no separate calorie or allergen fields or icons yet.
Keep these lines on a menu you can edit
AlaMenu shows each dish's description in Arabic and English, and a change is live as soon as you save.
Guest search also reads descriptions, so a guest who types sesame or سمسم finds every dish that lists it.
The Free plan covers one branch with up to 10 items per category. There are no dedicated calorie or allergen fields or icons yet, so these lines go into each dish's description.
